Gearing Kimbo Up for Travel

Kimbo has always been a good traveler. He's gone with us on several camping trips and even on a trip to Washington D.C. The only place he didn't like was the beach. His pink skin is prone to sunburn and I think the gritty, unstable sand interfered too much with his favorite pastime -- fetch.

Here's what we brought for Kimbo while we travel full time in an RV.

We adopted Kimbo from Town Lake Animal Center in Austin 6 years ago when he was about 10 months old. He's a pitbull mix, likely an American Staffordshire Terrier crossed with an American Bulldog. We attended Love-A-Bull's advanced obedience training where he mastered commands like "leave it" and "drop it." Read more about Kimbo.

Over the years we've amassed a lot of doggie gear, so when we started downsizing to travel full time in an RV, we did our best to keep only the things he'd need. OK, there are a few extras, too. We mostly got rid of some of this clothes and toys, but we did buy a few new items, like the shaded cot, a fluffy bed, and elder dog vitamins. Most of Kimbo's stuff fits inside a 10-gallon tote.

Refer to this legend to see the item described.
